Deckshield Delivers in Quill City Mall Renovation

Flowcrete Asia has worked with Quill City Mall to provide a colourful watertight, hardwearing surface for its brand new shopping centre located at Jalan Sultan Ismail.

The new lifestyle mall located along Jalan Sultan Ismail boasts various shopping, dining and entertainment attractions. With the interior consisting of eight floors, each organised around a network of atriums, providing a comfortable and leisurely shopping experience.

For many years this was an abandoned building before the Quill group saw the potential of the dilapidated structure in the heart of the city centre and utilised its strategic location by converting it into a new lifestyle shopping mall.

The site’s existing car park was covered with water leakage marks as well as localised damage and deterioration. As a regular customer of Flowcrete, Quill didn’t need to think twice about bringing in the resin flooring specialists to improve this faulty floor finish.

15,000sqm of the Deckshield ID car park deck coating system, which is ideal for intermediate decks of multi-storey, basement and other trafficable suspended floors, was installed over four months to enhance the existing car park environment.

 Available in a range of eye-catching colours, Deckshield ID can brighten up any dull, dark, musty car park. The Quill Group made use of this design potential to create a colour coordinated floor design, with the main thoroughfares in a calming blue, pedestrian walkways in a contrasting bright red, parking bays in light grey and clearly visible yellow signage.

 Deckshield ID cosmetically enhances and reduces noise, making multi-storey car parks brighter and safer environments to visit. Deckshield is suitable for both the refurbishment of existing car parks or new construction projects.

 Not only is Deckshield ID aesthetically attractive, it also greatly reduces tyre squeal and boasts a high level of abrasion and chemical resistance. This in turn means that the system can easily cope with the inevitable spillages of oil, battery acid, fuel and hydraulic fluid, which are synonymous with car park environments.

 The robust Deckshield ID system also has excellent bond strength and is resistant to hairline cracking as well as being 100% UV light stable. This means that it is perfect for car parks that are exposed to heavy traffic and direct sunlight as it has the capabilities to stand up to all types of weathering.
