In the Toyota distributor’s previous location the floor finish exhibited substantial signs of wear, peeling and delamination. Constant exposure to corrosive chemicals, foot and wheeled traffic had also damaged the building’s concrete substrate.
These floor failures not only affected the facility’s daily activities, but they also had a detrimental effect on the site’s appearance, portraying an unattractive image to customers.
Because of these factors UMW Toyota Kulai moved to a new site in Indahpura Car City. Hard wearing and reliable systems from Flowcrete Asia were applied in the car service centre, delivery bays and reception area to ensure that the new buildings avoided unsightly and inefficient floors. It was also important that the floor system could be applied within a one-month timetable to be ready for the showroom’s grand opening.
Flowcrete Asia was chosen for this project thanks to their previous success at other UMW Toyota locations. 1,500m² of Flowshield PU was supplied for the service centre and 500m² of Deckshield ED was used in the reception and delivery bays. The UV resistant sealer Flowseal UV was applied above the Flowshield PU and Deckshield UV line marker was used to demarcate the service bays, traffic signage and bay numbering.
The high abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and low maintenance finish of these systems makes them ideal for the automotive industry
