Menara Astra Jakarta, Indonesia

A combination of car park deck coating solutions from Flowcrete Indonesia were installed at Jakarta’s Menara Astra skyscraper to provide a durable finish in the car park’s underground entrance and drop off area that would withstand the challenges of regular multi-flow traffic.

Home to the Indonesia Stock Exchange listed Astra International, this 47-storey development is a Grade A office complex that accommodates a 1,000-person capacity convention hall and a three-floor retail area.

To ensure that the car park would maintain a floor that lived up to the high standards of the building’s occupants, specialist resin flooring systems were applied throughout the multi-level parking facility.

2,000 m² of the epoxy system Deckcoat EP was installed in the two lower levels of the car park thanks to its robust properties that would protect against the wear, use, heavy vehicles and automotive chemicals that it would be exposed to on a daily basis. A light grey colour was chosen as it would provide a pleasant contrast with the bold blue and yellow wall details as well as ensure that the yellow bay demarcations on the floor would be easy to spot.

1,000 m² of Deckshield ID was used to coat the entrance and drop off area on the top level as its highly durable nature was ideal for withstanding the demands that the regular multiflow traffic would inflict on the floor in these areas.

Both Deckshield ID and Deckcoat EP were not only specified at Menara Astra to protect the car park from vehicular traffic, but the low VOC, solvent free formulations contributed to the building’s platinum standard Green Building status.
