Serendah Manufacturing Plant, Malaysia

Earlier this month, RPM Platform Markets APAC unveiled Asia’s largest manufacturing facility. Spanning 217,800 square feet, it surpasses the previous Kepong plant by 3.5 times in size. The new plant includes a showroom and a cafeteria, which was not available in the old plant. Producing multiple brands and products, it was imperative for the company to have a showroom to showcase what it offers.

Over 140 m2 Mondéco Crystal was installed on the ground floor of the office building. It is environmentally friendly, hygienic and easy to clean. Mondeco Crystal includes various decorative materials, such as mother of pearl, to create a glamorous effect. It also offers wide design flexibility to meet specific aesthetics requirements making it an ideal choice for a showroom.

To cater for over 100 staff, the cafeteria will need to be both functional and create a soothing atmosphere for the staff to relax and enjoy during lunch and dinner. Flowscreed Micro was chosen not only for its hardwearing and abrasion-resistant properties but also for its hygienic and easy-to-clean features. The flooring was not only used on the floor but also applied on the walls of the cafeteria to achieve a natural cement look. The combination of two natural cement colours chosen delivered a luxurious aesthetic of natural concrete, enhancing the overall look and feel of the cafeteria.

The application process for both the showroom and cafeteria started in early April and was completed ahead of the plant’s official opening in July.
