As part of Resorts World Genting’s comprehensive upgrade project, the renowned hotel and theme park refurbished an existing car park in order to provide a superior, premium experience for its high-end clientele.
The previous car park environment was not of a sufficient quality to meet the standards expected by the venue’s premium customers. This meant that a more decorative floor finish was required that would maintain a clean and fresh appearance in the face of multiple challenges such as the movement of heavy vehicles, exposure to automotive oils and frequent cleaning.
To meet these objectives, 3,000 m2 of the flexible polyurethane car park deck coating system Deckshield ID was installed across the premium car park area during a three-month application project. Deckshield ID has been specifically designed to provide a colourful, watertight and robust surface for the intermediate decks of multi-storey car parking facilities.
The project manager chose a warm grey colour for the floor with a complementary light blue used to designate the parking bays. Deckshield Linemarker in bright yellow was applied to create clearly visible demarcation and signage to improve navigation and safety onsite.
Slip resistance was an important factor for this flooring project due to the location being prone to excessive moisture levels. This is an inevitable concern when creating a car park 6,000 feet above sea level in a cool mountain range prone that’s humidity levels up to or above 89%.
All of these properties meant that the car park’s users would have an enhanced driving experience, starting each visit in a relaxed, enjoyable manner and ensuring that the venue would create a great first impression on its customers.
