The car parks, offering 589 private spaces, required durable deck coatings that could stand up to future challenges. For this, 24,000 m2 of Deckshield ID and Deckshield EP primer from Flowcrete Hong Kong were chosen.
The basement level of the car park (B3) was coated in 6,000 m2 of Deckshield EP primer, for the ultimate hardwearing base support, followed by 6,000 m2 of the abrasion, slip and fire resistant Deckshield ID.
Levels B2-3/F were coated with 18,000 m2 of Deckshield ID. The excellent chemical resistance of this system reduced the risk of damage from engine oil, battery acid, hydraulic fluid, fuel and similar substances for all levels of the car park.
Aside from the durability, low VOC content and flexibility of Deckshield ID, a further property that appealed to the client was its ability to cosmetically enhance and reduce noise, making the multi-storey car parks brighter, quieter and safer.
The installation was completed within four months and the car parks were able to reopen with safe and reliable deck coatings.
