When selecting a flooring system suitable for the multi-storey car park to serve users from over 300 units of luxurious residences, the project architects required a solution that was functional and attractive to complement the high-end ambience of the building.
In order to provide a safe and reliable surface for the long term, 7,000 m2 of Deckshield ID was applied in basement 1 and 2 of the car park structure. In addition to being abrasion resistant, this solvent free, flexible polyurethane traffic coating system is also resistant to chemicals such as engine oil, battery acid, hydraulic fluids, fuel and other substances often found in car parks. For the lowest basement level, 3,000 m2 of Flowcem was used as a temporary moisture barrier to protect the deck coating from expected high levels of residual moisture coming through the concrete slab.
Grey was selected for the main roadways and parking bays while Ocean Blue was specifically used for dedicated parking bays for hybrid vehicles to differentiate between the two types of parking bays.
The entire coating project was completed in two months and was ready to welcome residents in August 2019.
