Monki Strikes Gold with its Flowcrete Floor

Flowcrete Hong Kong has worked with an innovative fashion designer to provide floors for its Hong Kong store that would convey the brand’s colourful, vibrant and youthful image.

The fashion label’s designer chose two tailor-made styles for the store, glittering gold and sleek silver. To achieve this effect, 200m2 of Flowflake Kristalina was installed on the shop floor in these custom colours.

The two systems were applied next each other across the retail outlet’s floor area, separated by curving lines. This design created a luxurious aesthetic that would serve as the ideal backdrop for Monki’s eclectic and lively line of high-end fashion. The bespoke look and attention to detail would ensure new customers walking into the shop leave with the right first impression.

The decorative epoxy system Flowflake Kristalina would also provide the store with the functionality required within a busy commercial environment. The seamlessness of the finish means that it can be quickly and easily cleaned and its hardwearing nature avoids scratches, scuffs and stains, which means that the floor will retain an unblemished and attractive appearance for an extended period of time despite heavy foot traffic and continuous use.

200m2 of the fast drying floor screed Isocrete 1500 was also installed during the project to act as a hardwearing underlayment that would provide the ideal surface for the application of a resin floor finish.

The entire flooring project took only five days to complete. It was critical that the tight installation deadline was met, as the high rental rates and the fact that other trades had to be catered for meant that the floor had to be completed quickly. The products chosen and the expertise of Flowcrete Hong Kong’s approved applicator meant that the floor was finished on time and to an exceptional standard.
