Modern Bangkok Restaurant Creates Fun and Friendly Floor

A new restaurant in the heart of Bangkok has used a combination of high-end flooring materials to create a unique and stylised floor finish.

My Kitchen, a youthful venue located in the multi-restaurant Siam Discovery shopping mall, designed a floor that would convey a relaxed yet luxurious image using a combination of white volakas marble and black-and-white dappled Flowflake Kristalina.

The two materials were arrayed across the 1,000 m2 floor space in a circular pattern that reflected the interior design scheme and which would generate a feeling of friendliness and warmth. The decorative, smooth and sparkling epoxy resin floor finish Flowflake Kristalina was applied in three large circular VIP areas thanks to its suitability for contemporary, minimalist spaces.

My Kitchen’s visual impact is a significant aspect of the restaurant, with floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the city, white circular tiles suspended from the ceiling, art installations, disco balls and an interior design scheme that uses large blocks of crisp white colour.

Flowflake Kristalina not only allowed My Kitchen to achieve the desired aesthetics, but it also provided a robust finish able to withstand the scuffs, scrapes and strains inherent to a busy, 250-seat restaurant. The seamless and impervious nature of this system also means that it is easy to keep the floor area clean and looking its best.
