Founded less than ten years ago as a collaborative venture with Shanghai Chinese Herbal University, Shanghai Xiang Yi Ben Cao Cosmetic Company manufactures a range of herbal cosmetic products that are sold via a national retail network across China. 

When refurbishing the floor at its Shanghai plant, the company evaluated a number of resin systems before selecting Flowcrete's polyurethane Flowfresh. With only a seven day window in which to complete the work and zero degree temperatures during installation, Flowcrete and its licensed applicator Shanghai Di Tuo were able to demonstrate their ability to meet all the criteria.

Hard-wearing and impact resistant, Flowfresh is able to withstand wheeled traffic and heavy machinery typically encountered in production environments. High chemical resistance is a further benefit to protect against aggressive compounds and organic acids. A unique natural antimicrobial additive known as Polygiene^® is incorporated into the Flowfresh resin mix to deliver total protection against MRSA, E-coli and Salmonella Typhi, remaining active for the lifetime of the floor. The seamless surface presents a joint-free hygienic finish that is easy to clean.

With technical expertise available in-country and the resin system supplied from Flowcrete's manufacturing hub in Malaysia, the 3,800 sq metre installation was expedited in line with the client's shutdown period. The floor was finished with a topcoat of Flowseal UV sealer for added protection.
