Park YOHO, Hong Kong

Split into two phases, the Park YOHO development began in 2015 in the Yuen Long District in Hong Kong. Both phases were completed in 2017 and the complex, housing recreational venues such as swimming pools, a clubhouse, banquet halls and fitness stations was snapped up in Hong Kong’s hot property market.

After working with the developers, Sun Hung Kai Properties, to create several high performance car park floors for residential and commercial projects, deck-coating solutions from Flowcrete Hong Kong were also chosen for Park YOHO.

For the basement car park, 45,000 m² of Flowcrete’s Deckshield EP was used to prepare the substrate, due to its watertight property. Deckshield ID was then installed as the coating thanks to its suitability to the notoriously damp conditions of underground basement car parks.

The Deckshield range is Green Label certified, low VOC, chemical resistant and hardwearing. Chemical resistance is key for busy car park environments that need to withstand exposure to oils, petrol, battery fluid and other solutions inherent in automotive spaces. Deckshield ID also cosmetically enhances and reduces noise, creating a bright, safe environment even in basement car parks.

With the Park YOHO complex hosting many recreational venues, different colours were used to differentiate the residential, retail, visitor, EV charging and motorcycle parking bays. Mid-tone grey was used for the roadways with white line demarcation.
