Okada Manila Hotel & Resort, Philippines

Located in the Okada Manila hotel the Purposeful Learning and Activities for the Young, or PLAY, is a family friendly indoor facility for children aged one to sixteen years old. With eight purpose-built play areas appealing to the young and young-at-heart, the design of each area of the facility encapsulates the fun nature of the place.

Flowcrete Asia was consulted for flooring options that could help to bring the aesthetic of the outdoor garden indoors, in order to mirror the décor throughout the facility. 250m² of Mondéco Earth was chosen in three complementary colours: Pomegranate, Kiwi and Almond.

Mondéco Earth was chosen thanks to its flexibility of design and the option to perfectly match the ‘nature’ visual within the play zone.

Additional properties such as its seamless nature and chemical resistance meant that the floor could withstand daily cleaning without the risk of bacteria hiding in joints or cracks, creating a clean and safe environment for children to play in.

The client could also rest assured that the moving of play apparatus, impacts from dropped items and the high level of footfall would not harm the flooring thanks to the system’s high abrasion resistance.

Stainless steel inlays were used to separate the three colours during the installation of the solvent free, low odour system.
