Auto-Silo Da Rua Do Almirante Sergio, Macau

Following the destruction caused by the super Typhoon, Macau’s Government formed a mission to refurbish several car park facilities in the region during 2018.

During the first phase of the mission, the Government-managed public car park, Auto-Silo da Rua Do Almirante Sergio, required a safe and reliable car park deck coating system that could withstand potentially destructive weather conditions.

With Flowcrete Hong Kong’s recommendation, 6,500 m² of the Green Label Certified, low VOC Deckshield ID was used for the levels 1F-2F of this car park.

Ideally suited for car park environments, Deckshield ID is abrasion resistant, watertight and chemical resistant to substances inherent to car parks, such as battery acid, engine oil, hydraulic fluid and fuel.

The flexible polyurethane system is also able to withstand the intermittent weight of vehicles thanks to its suppleness, removing the risk of building movement leading to cracks or abrasions.

As well as being flexible and durable, Deckshield ID is also aesthetically pleasing. Dark grey was adopted for the car park surface, which contrasted well to the crisp white line demarcation that clearly outlined parking bays and direction arrows for drivers, further enhancing the safety of the car park.

The refurbishment was completed within two months, and the car park was able to welcome visitors and residents of Macau once again.
