Having already supplied the flooring solution for the refurbishment of Herme’s Thailand branch, Hermès’ Korea outlet also chose Flowcrete Asia to recommend the ideal floor for its store. To mirror the high-end goods, a bespoke Mondèco system was chosen to cover the 150 m2 area.
Aggregates were incorporated into the floor as per traditional terrazzo, however special European marble in seven different colours was used within this system provide a completely unique design and match the colours within the store’s interior design scheme.
As well as being decorative, Mondéco is extremely durable, making for a long life cycle even when exposed to daily footfall and heavy store displays. Its seamless nature also made it extremely easy to clean, leaving no gaps where dirt or grime could collect, meaning that the store would remain looking as good as new for an extended period of time.
With regular cleaning being a priority in the premium store, chemical resistance was also incredibly important, and Mondéco fit the bill with ease. The seamless resin terrazzo system was utilised on the shop floor, the stairs and applied around a branded, tiled motif. These application challenges posed no issue for the versatile material.
The installation was completed within 45 days, the stipulated time frame set by the client, and the store was ready to welcome customers on schedule.
