In order to maintain exceptional parking facilities for its members, the estate’s Country Club decided to renovate its 4,000m2 car park building to make sure that it was in line with the site’s high standards.
Isocrete K-Screed was first laid at a thickness of 50mm in order to provide a high strength screed that could cope with the stresses of a busy car parking facility. Isocrete K-Screed incorporates a unique “K” additive that requires less water, reducing cure times and minimising the risk of cracking.
The Deckshield ID traffic coating system was then installed along with Deckshield Linemarker to create a robust finish that would retain a seamless and colourful surface despite prolonged exposure to fuel spillages as well as impacts and abrasions from the continuous heavy traffic flow. The impervious nature of Deckshield also protects the underlying concrete structure from damaging water ingress.
A dark grey colour was specified for the car park’s roadways with a complementary light grey chosen for the parking bays in order to distinguish between the two areas. Crisp white lines were used for the floor’s signage so that users would be able to easily see the navigational markings and yellow hatching was applied to ensure that all hazardous zones are clearly visible.
