Vina Kraft Paper Factory, Vietnam

Vina Kraft Paper, one of the 21 subsidiaries of SCG in Vietnam, is the ASEAN’s leading paper manufacturer with a total production capacity of up to 2.7 million tons per year. For such a large processing plant, SCG called upon Flowcrete Vietnam to provide robust floor and tank coating systems for their facility in the rural district of Bến Cát located in Bình Dương Province, just outside of Ho Chi Minh City.

The hardwearing nature of Flowcrete’s industrial epoxy coating systems was a key benefit, which led to the product being chosen for the 7,000 m2 production areas. The eye-catching design stands out in an array of vibrant colours that not only provides walkways and guides employees to clear zones but also acts as an important safety feature for workers. 

Flowshield SL 1000 was applied onto the substrate creating a seamless, impervious barrier to protect against the demands of a heavy workhorse environment. An additional layer of Flowseal HTS was used as a topcoat to add a further degree of abrasion resistance and UV stability to minimise damage and discolouration of the epoxy system below.

Flowchem VE GL, Flowcoat V and Flowcoat CRV were applied in the tank areas to provide highly chemical resistant surfaces, protecting against the continuous exposure to the chemicals used in the production process. Flowchem VE GL is a vinyl ester coating system that was created to protect against highly aggressive processing environments and even boasts a temperature resistance of up to 165°C.

SCG are happy with the final finish of the specialty coatings, and are especially pleased that they have found a tank lining system that is reliable and resists the stress of their daily manufacturing processes.
