For the client’s Consumer Health production facility expansion of its Cimanggis plant, Flowcrete Asia was asked for support when choosing a flooring system.

The client expressed the importance to have a strong, scratch resistant and durable flooring which would be easy to clean and stand the test of time, requiring minimum maintenance and repair work.

For the production expansion and the QC stability chamber room, 1,500 m² of the seamless, easy-to-clean and decorative flooring solution Flowflake Terrosso from Flowcrete Asia was applied. A reliable applicator was selected to ensure a highly accurate and quality installation within the stipulated timeslot.

With an extremely tough and resistant clear sealer, Flowflake Terrosso’s high scratch resistance and extremely durable surface was required in order to withstand wheeled traffic from forklifts, with heavy loads weighing up to 1.5 tonnes of IBC loads on the production floor.

High durability and chemical resistance also meant that floor failure was highly unlikely when faced with spilt pharmaceutical substances, chemical cleaners and disinfectants. The seamlessness of the flooring solution ensured that it was easy to clean and maintain, with dirt and bacteria having no joints to hide in. This was imperative in the pharmaceutical production areas, where any spilt substances would need to be cleaned away very quickly in order to reduce the risk of the carefully controlled environment being disturbed. 

The installation was completed within three months, and production could commence using the expanded facility within the planned schedule.
