Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital, Hong Kong

Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital is a new build medical centre, providing 470 beds over 25 floors in the heart of Hong Kong.

The hospital was expanded to provide comprehensive medical services in the North Tsuen Wan district to solve an existing shortage of healthcare and medical resources in the region. The award-winning design offers brand new specialist centres, operating rooms and facilities within a spacious and comfortable, hotel-style environment.

For the car park facility, the architects chose world-renowned resin flooring specialists Flowcrete Hong Kong, specifying Deckshield ID and Deckshield IDSD High Grade traffic coatings due to the systems’ ability to meet the operational challenges typically experienced within a busy car park environment.

A sleek monochrome design was incorporated into the floor plan with coloured disabled bays along with crisp white signage to help drivers navigate around the facility. To achieve this, approximately 2,500m² of Deckshield ID was applied to the basement car park providing a hardwearing, chemical resistant surface that would protect the substrate against the demands of constant multi-flow vehicular traffic.

Flowcrete’s polyurethane based Deckshield system also improves the aesthetics of the car park, providing a high-quality, seamless finish that provokes a positive first impression for visitors.

A total of 300m² of Deckshield IDSD was also used to coat the sloping gradients and ramps providing a textured finish in case of spillages and rainfall. Deckshield IDSD is specifically designed for use on areas where a courser texture and higher durability is required.
