Fox World Studio Store, Malaysia

The Fox World Studio Store, located in the Sky Avenue shopping mall has undergone a transformation as part of a large-scale renovation at Genting Highland, Malaysia. This store, spanning 300 m², offers close to 700 themed collectibles from 20th Century Fox movies and is sure to attract movie buffs from all over.

As a destination store for visitors to Resort World the chosen flooring had to be durable, safe and decorative in order to be both harmless and welcoming for staff and visitors. Architects from DesignStream, Kuala Lumpur selected Flowcrete Asia’s Mondéco range, thanks to the functionality, design flexibility and visual properties that these systems provide.

Mondéco Crystal in RAL colour 1015 and Mondéco Earth in Coconut were chosen to create a flooring design that complimented and mirrored Fox World Studio branding. These materials were used to create a pattern across the entire 280 m² of sales room flooring. The intricate design here was created using stainless steel inlays to separate the coloured zones, highlighting walkways and areas for merchandised displays.

In addition to the sales floor, the storeroom needed a flooring solution with excellent antibacterial performance; here, Flowfresh SL was chosen for the 32 m² area. The system’s antibacterial properties inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, moulds and mildew, whilst high abrasion resistance means that the flooring can withstand heavy foot traffic, wheeled traffic and impact from falling items.

The installation for both areas took a total of three weeks to complete and was ready for the store’s grand opening in early 2018.
