Flowcrete has developed a bespoke system to provide an attractive, non-slip surround for swimming pools at a number of HSBC Bank's residential properties in the exclusive Peak district of Hong Hong.

Designers at leading architects EC Harris were looking for a safe floor finish with a natural look for the pool-sides at several of the Bank's properties.

Following discussions with Flowcrete's technical team, Flowcrete's Rustik UV system was proposed as the solution. Based on a system originally designed for indoor use, Rustik UV comprises natural stone encapsulated in a clear UV resistant binder. The binder will withstand the harsh sunlight, while the seamless surface is pleasant and safe to walk and play on as well as being easy to clean. Fast completion was also one of the key criteria in order to minimise disruption to residents.

The Flowcrete Rustik UV system has since been specified by E C Harris for a further prestigious project in the same residential district.
